Sudan: Sudanese security and intelligence services allowed the family of journalist Osman Mirghani to visit him

The Sudanese security and intelligence service on Tuesday allowed the family of the newspaper "Al-Tiyad" Osman Mirghani to visit him after 18 days of detention,


The son of Osman Mirghani said the family had been allowed to visit his father for the first time at the Kober federal prison in Khartoum after being deported from political security camps this morning.


On February 22, Osman Mirghani was arrested on a satellite channel criticizing President Omar al-Bashir's speech in which he declared a state of emergency.


According to Jihad, his father "looked healthy but asked to see the doctor and was not responded to, where he suffers from diabetes and there is no food dedicated, and one eye needs to be a permanent treatment and periodic review since the attack of unknown persons in 2014, which has not been so far "He said.


Jihad said that his father did not investigate with him until now and does not know the crime and when he is released,


On Monday, the Sudanese Journalists' Union demanded the immediate release of Osman Mirghani.
